"Teachers need to continuously grow and develop to keep their skills current."
Artifact #1 2013-2014: On going Professional Development
All secondary library media specialists take part in quarterly professional development sponsored by the Library Office/Office of Digital Learning. In these sessions we learn a wide variety of skills and knowledge that is specific to our profession such as Guided Inquiry Design, Library Catalog Management (Destiny), Copyright, and LibraryTrac just to name a few. Above is a list of all that I have attended over the past 4 years.
Artifact #1 2014-2015: Ongoing Professional Development
I have signed up for many professional development courses since becoming an employee of BCPS. This list shows most recent courses I have taken and will attend in the near future.

Evidence-Based Practice for Secondary School LMS
Outcome: School library media specialists will be able to use evidence to inform instruction and to demonstrate the value and impact of their program and professional practices on student learning. Indicator: School library media specialists will share evidence of the value and impact of school library programs and instruction with school stakeholders on a regular basis. I participated in a workshop to learn how to use evidence based practice in my school library and used this knowledge to design and implement my own ebp. Artifact #1 2016-17: Lesson Study
I participated in a lesson study of middle school LMS. It was an eyeopening experience and really allowed me to a receive critical evaluation of my lesson as well as watching and critiquing the others in my cohort. This lesson study helped me to realize how I could make my lesson more student centered and helped me focus more specifically on writing an objective that was specific to the lesson I was teaching. A full explanation of the study group can be found here bcpslis.pbworks.com/w/page/115471054/Secondary%20Lesson%20Study
